Believe it or not, this year's biggest coup d'etat is not characterized by challenged political systems or failed international diplomacy. It's about the fall fashion color palette.
Move over Spring, your monopoly on pastel hues is officially over.
As indicated by the Fall 2013 runways, these pale shades are huge for Fall, so you better get while the getting is good. Today I'm featuring a panoply (yes, PANOPLY) of fall trends: crop top, monochrome, menswear-inspired pumps, pleats and pastels.

As we saw in this post, mastering the crop trend at work is not an insurmountable challenge. Today I've paired it with a high-waisted skirt, effectively creating that cropped silhouette with out risking any midriff exposure in the office. Also, to avoid midriff exposure that could result from sitting, bending, doing lunges, or, I don't know, the occasional arabesque at your desk (yes! rhyming!) I would recommend wearing a camisole underneath. In case you need a refresher, read my homage to the camisole here. Spoiler alert: the camisole may cure cancer.
P.S. My ensemble today is thanks to HauteLook. Whether it's HauteLook, RueLaLa or Gilt, flash sale sites are both a blessing and a curse. You can find incredible deals on your favorite designers, however those great finds are often not available in stores, making it difficult for me to link to the exact merchandise. However, through the links I've provided above, you can recreate my look today by pairing this Asos skirt that comes in a variety of amazing colors, with one of these sweaters (here, here, and here).
